The Learning & Development Institute, founded in 1969, is the professional body representing members concerned with Learning and Talent Development in Ireland.
Previously named the Irish Institute of Training and Development (IITD), we are delighted to announce our new makeover and rebrand to Learning and Development Institute - L&DI.
Founded in 1969, the IITD was formed by a group of business leaders from noteworthy companies such as Guinness and Fry's Cadbury to provide a network and support for the training and development of skill sets within Irish businesses. At the first inaugural meeting, one of the founding members, Dr Bertie Collins, Director of Training with ESB, expressed his desire to ensure training become central to Ireland's economic future. A sentiment as relevant today as it was back then.Over the last 53 years, the IITD has gone from strength-to-strength, building to a membership of over 2,000 individuals, dedicated to progressing and improving the training and learning standards in Ireland.
