Curtain comes down on European Year of Skills

At the European Year of Skills closing event in Brussels recently, a selection of National Co-ordinators highlighted several concrete achievements in their countries over the past 12 months. These included:

  • The promotion of more accessible access to training.
  • Reform of vocational education and training and adult learning and updated curriculum.
  • Focus on upskilling/reskilling for the digital and green transition.
  • Use of individual learning and use of micro-credentials.
  • Large-scale training in digital skills, including for women in rural areas.
  • Improving the employability of young people through “learning by working”.
  • Workplace learning and inclusiveness.
  • Meeting labour shortages to address production capacity problems.
  • The development of an Action Plan of Skills for adults and young people.
