Welcome to the L&DI National Conference 2024

In a world where intelligent machines and advanced technologies are transforming every facet of life, the way we learn and develop skills is at a critical juncture.

Matt Beane is one of the world’s top researchers on work and technology.  His research focuses on building skills in a world filled with intelligent technologies.  His latest research, “The Skill Code: How to Save Human Ability in an Age of Intelligent Machines,” looks at how technologies such as robots and AI can interfere with old ways of learning, with potentially devastating consequence — and how people can build skills today, including making intelligent technologies part of the solution.

As automation and AI reshape our workplaces and daily lives, we will explore the challenges posed by these technologies to traditional learning methods. Together, we will delve into the potential consequences of neglecting human skill development in favour of automation and share actionable strategies to preserve and cultivate essential human abilities in this new era.

Our agenda will also feature engaging discussions on building a strong learning culture in your organisation to ensure strategic positioning of L&D with senior leaders, and optimum learner engagement to foster an environment where people can thrive alongside technological advancements.

Join us for an inspiring and essential conversation on the future of learning, skill-building, and the human potential in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
